Discovery garden the Garden opens again on June 29
Something beautiful is growing in Enkhuizen. On Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m., the Garden will open the invisible doors to the show garden for vegetables, flowers and herbs. Just in front of the historic Koepoort and city wall, visitors are taken on a journey of discovery past everything that grows and blooms on our fertile soil.

Do you remember what flowers, plants and herbs look like before they are packed in handy bags and packets, with labels and additives, on the supermarket shelves? In the Garden, the general public discovers how vegetables, herbs and flowers grow in the field.

What is there to see?

From exotic flowers to forgotten vegetables, all flora comes into its own in the Garden. A vegetable garden with the vegetables from our meals, a testing ground with herbs that we know from pots and bags. And a show garden with nature's most beautiful bouquets. Get inspiration for your own garden, see how crops grow, take a journey through time with vegetables that our ancestors had on the menu and meet experts in the field of cultivation and seed breeding.

What's new this year?

This year some new interesting crops have been added to the Garden: a wide range of sunflowers, all kinds of old and new lettuce varieties, 11 different types of Lilies, a collection of 30 combinations of annual bloomers in patio pots, a cut flower picking garden and a number of flower mixtures. including insect mixtures, peppers and tomatoes in patio pots.

Fun and educational

A proud team of skilled volunteers uses their knowledge and skills to make the Garden grow and blossom into the discovery garden for gardening enthusiasts. For a fun outing in nature, with an educational character.

Opening hours and accessibility
.
The Garden is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm and on Wednesdays from 9am to 12.30pm. The discovery garden is located right next to the Koepoort, halfway along the Randweg to the railway. Easy to reach by bicycle or car. Parking is available in the Syngenta parking lot, Westeinde 62 in Enkhuizen. Parking is not permitted on the grounds of the Garden itself. Boat travelers are welcome via www.rondvaartenkhuizen.nl
